11.9.2014 – George Alderman Nominated To DE Sports Hall of Fame
Dave Back had the honor of nominating George Alderman to the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. He was given five minutes to highlight George’s career and why he should be considered. George’s career began at the age of 21 competing in a hill climb. In 1964 he attended the first SCCA Runoffs at Riverside towing his race car cross country with a borrowed Cadillac convertible, and won the runoffs at a track he had never driven before. Driving a Gremlin, he bested BMW for the IMSA championship and at the age of 60 he won the 24 Hours of Nelson Ledges. His last competitive race was in 2002 at Lime Rock Park at the age of 70, with many victories, lap records and championships along the way. Please jump on board, and support George’s nomination to become the first motorsports champion to be inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. There is no one more deserving to represent the sport and skill of driving than George! Brandywine Motorsport Club members please take note!
Delaware Sports Hall of Fame
If you have been reading our Newsletters, it may not be news that we are asking everyone to join the DE Sports Hall of Fame before the end of the year. George Alderman has been nominated to the Hall of Fame and you can help vote for for him as long as you are a member before the end of the year. George has devoted his life to Motorsports and has been very successful over the years and deserves to be placed in the Hall of Fame. Here is their application.
